Job Description Summary

The Office of the University Registrar at Wake Forest University is seeking a Senior Associate University Registrar. Under the guidance of the University Registrar, the Senior Associate Registrar will lead strategic planning and staff development, and assist the University with academic policy development and implementation. He/shewill provide leadership to the staff and function as the general operations manager and supervisor, ensuring that appropriate practices and procedures are in place for managing the work. He/she will work with subject area experts to assure that technical support and development are being properly prioritized and applied.
Sets strategic direction and oversees the daily operations of the Office of the University Registrar.
Ensures that a collaborative culture thrives among the eleven direct reports, supporting the highest quality of service and day-to-day operations.
Staffdevelopment and performance management.
Plans and implements practices that continue to improve the services and work provided by the Office of the University Registrar. Includes course registration, academic record keeping, records privacy, transfer credit evaluation, curriculum management, transcript services, academic calendars, advising support & degree requirement tracking, application of NCAA and federal regulations, reporting, graduation certification, commencement, and other essential academic service functions.
Interprets and enforces academic rules and regulations within a strong faculty governance model.
Enforces policies and procedures related to the student data and records residing in the student information system and linked systems.
-Represents the University Registrar through leadership and participation on University committees and working groups where priorities and strategies are discussed and developed.
-Works collaboratively with the University Registrar on policy, strategy, priorities, and practices. Assists with University Registrar budget development and management.
-Acts on behalf of the University Registrar in his absence.
-Manages specific portions of Commencement operations.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
-Proven success in a direct supervisory role leading professional staff.
-Effective leadership skills, including proven ability to organize, motivate, and lead professional colleagues.
-Evidence of success in project implementation with advanced skills in project prioritization, planning, and resource allocation.
-Expert knowledge of student privacy rules and policies.
-Proven experience with the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.
-Proven skills in creative and analytical problem solving. A curious investigator.
-Proven ability to balance multiple priorities.
Education and Experience:
-At least six years of progressively responsible experience in student services administration, with specific professional leadership experiences on a registrar or enrollment management staff.
-Master Degree and extensive experience in academic administration positions
Sophisticated understanding of curriculum and academic program structures in higher education.
Proven ability to work effectively with faculty leadership on committees and in support of faculty governance.
Responsible for own work.
