Budget Title: Staff Assistant (SL-2)

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University is seeking an organized, responsible, high-energy individual who also has excellent multi-tasking and communication skills for the position of administrative assistant.
The administrative assistant maintains the highest standards of faculty, staff, and student friendliness and support expected in the fulfillment of the mission of the school and the University. The successful candidate will need to be organized and detail-oriented as well as productive while managing competing priorities. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as an ability to adapt to shifting priorities and tasks as assigned are also essential. This will include responding to incoming communications and office visitors in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
S/he will work directly with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment, the Health Outcomes and Administrative Sciences (HOAS) department and provide support for the Director of Assessment as needed.
Assist in planning and tracking of departmental budget, make departmental purchases as directed, assist the assistant dean and director with expense reporting, travel arrangements.
Coordination of the personnel and business aspects of the department, including personnel documentation and HR Forms.
Create, organize, maintain and update student, committee and department-based data, records, minutes, and documentation. Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA.
Preparation and management of course schedules, teaching assignments, and course syllabi including course building.
Provide direct administrative support to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment, the chair of HOAS, and to the Director of Assessment.
Have responsibility for HOAS administrative support and make departmental purchases as directed.
Become familiar with and able to use specialized educational software.
Able to work independently and troubleshoot.
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum three years of administrative support experience
Previous experience in a healthcare related school, pharmacy school, and/or experience in a higher education environment are preferred
Attention to visual and procedural detail
Strong organizational abilities
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, Word, PowerPoint, and particularly proficient with Excel
Must be proficient with general office equipment
