Rider University seeks a Pub Officer in the Department of Public Safety at our Lawrenceville campus. Among the primary responsibilities will be overseeing the pub / event activities which include ensuring legal age compliance, maintaining occupancy levels and monitoring behavior within the Pub during alcohol nights and special events; protecting life and property; preventing and detecting crime on campus; providing other essential safety and security services as needed to supplement the shifts; and report writing, including gathering facts of incident and giving an accurate account of the situation. The Pub Officer will also play a primary role in taking photos for the Campus Card Access System, updating lost card counts, billing for lost cards, access to parking lots, and other associated duties.
Successful candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a college degree is preferred. Additional requirements include: police, fire fighting, security or military experience; be at least 21 years of age; good physical stamina; must have, or be willing to obtain within one year, CPR certification; willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime; excellent interpersonal skills; and demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure. This position requires a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
