The Transactional Control Analyst in London, in support of our global operating model, will perform a hybrid role with a wide array of senior operational responsibilities. The analyst will principally support the Transactional Control and Reconciliations teams, and will provide ad-hoc cover for various other Treasury, Portfolio Co-ordination and Investor Services functions. Covering cross product, principally equities and bonds, the successful candidate will require a good understanding of the trade lifecycle and would suit candidates from a Middle Office or varied Operational background.
Investigating non-working (non-base) currency positions and instructing FX deals to Trading to convert balances where appropriate.
Researching high priority breaks and exceptions often working to tight deadlines.
Principal operational cover for regional accounts, and providing general support to the client services and transition teams.
Supporting niche business, and providing advice on aged queries to our outsourced recon teams. Challenging Custodians on any overdrafts, any trade breaks, and ensuring integrity of our positions.
Processing internal portfolio cash sweeps, providing position analysis /troubleshooting on investor portfolio queries, and review of client interest rates in relation to market alternatives.
The position works closely with multiple areas of the business. The individual must be well organised, resourceful, motivated and have the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
Desired skills and qualities might include:
Relevant experience working in the financial sector.
A Bachelor's degree with very strong academic credentials.
Ability to analyse, problem solve and communicate results effectively.
A good understanding of business risks, and how to mitigate.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
An aptitude for developing procedures, and business infrastructure to help improve team performance.
An ability to make informed decisions, often judgment calls, but knowing when to escalate appropriately.
General industry knowledge and understanding of the different functions within asset management.
