We Offer A diverse and challenging role in the Singapore Private Banking First Line of Defense Support ("FLDS") Team has opened up, which is part of the Bank's PB Location COO Organisation. The key responsibility of the FLDS Team is to implement, monitor and maintain an adequate culture of risk and control within PB Singapore Front Office.
The role includes the following core challenges:
You will partner with the Front Office and other key partners to act as a risk, control and procedure subject matter expert on various topic (such as Investment Suitability, Cross Border, AML, Anti-Fraud etc) providing expertise and advice from front to back.
You will support the Front Office Management to drive the risk culture and set the right tone from the top by: providing analysis of regular control monitoring results; the provision of training, and: building trusted relationships with all levels of your Front Office colleagues.
You will provide transparency and oversight to Senior Management on operational activities and associated risks within the PB Singapore Location keeping them up to date on the progress of key risk mitigating/management activities for example via the monthly Risk Governance Committee meeting for the Singapore location.
You will identify and assess key operational and business-related risks through reviews such as process deep dives; data analytics; risk and control self-assessment; Front Office issues etc. and where relevant, recommend solutions to handle, mitigate and monitor the key risks identified or address the underlying issues by driving process or control improvements.
You will represent the Front Office in various projects/working groups with partners from across the bank. You are responsible to challenge and support the partners to define balanced processes that ensure a high rate of compliance whilst not burdening the Front Office.
You will prepare for, and handle, interactions with internal/external auditors or regulatory inspections addressing any gaps identified and tracking and monitoring the closure of related action items.
You will be representing LCOO/FLDS in or will lead projects designed to improve risk culture, risk awareness and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.
You will be a dedicated member of the Location COO community and strive to achieve the department's objectives operating with the team's core values.
You are a fast learner with at least 8-10 years of experience in a risk/control or related function in the Financial Industry.
You are flexible, a team-player with a positive can-do attitude.
You have a confident personality with experience in handling business and operational risk issues and control matters.
Strong attention to details and takes pride in what he/she does
A critical mindset paired strong analytical skills and an interest to analyse/dig into big data to identify issues or control gaps
Good client and service orientation, enthusiasm and flair to take care of various personality types
Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly the ability to liaise with senior Front Office as well as other key partners
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, and to excel under-pressure for meeting any tight deadlines
Good organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks
Private Banking background is an advantage, but not mandatory (subject to your overall skills).
