The GSAM Fixed Income Portfolio management team is seeking a senior Associate / Junior VP based in London to help support two main streams of work. This individual would be responsible to help manage the product team as well help manage regulatory projects & initiatives specific to the Fixed Income business. This individual will help to drive change, improve team transparency, work allocation, drive standardization, automation & process improvements across the product teams & broader business. The individual would also have local people management responsibilities for the London based product team.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Responsibilities:
Manage the London based product managers
Engage with local and regional management in relation to business planning and staffing for the Product Team, lead recruitment efforts
Manage and develop team to maximize their contribution as well as motivates and encourage professional growth
Oversee initiatives that will help to drive business strategy and help develop the workflow associated with the production of materials including slides, marketing materials, reports and written materials
Create project and process specifications, coordinate with teams and to ensure that projects are on schedule & being delivered to specifications
Partner with the client business, marketing, and other key stakeholders to promote and support GSAM's Fixed Income products through quality client reporting & production of marketing materials
Ensure work is integrated across teams and that the work produced meets client & portfolio manager standards
Constantly work with PM & Federation teams to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and/or control of team processes
Implement regulatory reform initiatives; helping to conform with industry initiatives and ongoing regulatory requirements under multiple different regimes (MIFID2, Brexit etc.)
Assist with product development initiatives which many include helping to manage internal committees such as NIC, NPC, PVSC etc.
Skills & Experience:
Strong analytical, oral & written skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter and strong team player
Focus on identifying areas of continuous improvement, automation and scalability
Appetite to provide support and get involved in all aspects of the diverse role of the team
