This position primarily serves as the advisor for the company's global compensation program by surveying the industry and/or community to determine the company’s competitive position in employee cash compensation. The role also assures thorough audits, reports and personal contact that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations. Additionally, the role has oversight of US benefits administration and vendor management and may provide guidance on various global employee benefits.
Administers, develops and maintains all compensation activities.
Manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of compensation programs to support business needs, including competitive analysis, internal impact analysis, cost projections, implementation strategies.
Recommends compensation plan revisions (salary bands, spot awards, ERPs, variable bonus pay) that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to HR and senior management.
Conducts exempt and non-exempt salary surveys to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
Manages compensation survey vendor relationship including purchasing, analyzing and researching compensation surveys.
Analyzes and administers executive compensation programs including executive salary surveys and short- and , long-term incentive programs.
Provides advice and guidance to HR and management on pay decisions, annual pay review, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.
Develops communication materials that effectively communicate compensation and ensures alignment with corporate compensation philosophy and overall corporate culture.
Manages, creates and maintains accurate and updated job descriptions.
Manages HRIS projects as they relate to compensation objectives via Workday; maintains salary management tools by ensuring data is accurate and updated.
Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance for all U.S. locations.
Other projects and duties as assigned by Director and/or VP of HR.
Manages relationship with benefits broker and benefits consultants in order to administer all employee health and welfare programs. Responds to escalated employee benefits issues that cannot be handled through call center/third party administrators.
Maintains enrollment, application, and claims records for all benefit plans.
Conducts employee training and arranges for enrollment of benefits. Provides assistance and education on benefits for new and current employees.
Supervises preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with regulatory agencies. Keeps apprised of changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and reports necessary or suggested changes to management.
Provides back up support to 401(k) plan administrator and actively participates on the 401k trustee committee.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field (Accounting, Business, Finance).
Minimum 5 years of experience in compensation role in a global corporate environment; previous benefits experience desired.
Advanced Excel experience required.
Proven experience with stock options and equity programs required.
Proven experience in survey participation, specifically MTCS (Mercer Total Compensation Survey) required.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills.
Demonstrates advanced proficiency and experience in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Must have HRIS (i.e. Workday, SAP, Peoplesoft, etc.) experience, including: implementation, configuration and problem solving.
Strong organizational, planning and project management skills and demonstrates ability to multiple task simultaneously.
Demonstrated self-starter with ability to effectively prioritize; has a strong drive for results.
Capable of building professional relationships, rapport and trust with all levels of employees.
Strong communication skills - adjusts communication style/approach according to audience; skilled at asking questions for clarification and helps others work through complex ideas.
