Administrative Analyst, Hospital Billing and Collections will perform daily accounts receivable reviews using Excel pivot tables to report claim submission and open-balanced AR trends. Support department data needs by running ad-hoc system query reports to report claim denial trends. Serve as a subject matter expert with facility/hospital claim billing guidelines and claim processing behaviors. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly Patient Accounting tasks to ensure outstanding inventory progresses to expected contract reimbursement. Involves patient, third party, government, physician billing and/or collections activities.
Provides for coordinated processes, procedures and systems, customer service delivery models and ensuring compliance with internal policy and external agency regulations. Manages insurance reimbursement from third-party billings and government insurance programs. Keeps abreast of the full array of third-party contracts and billing/collections requirements. Incorporates cash posting, accounts receivable management and financial counseling for securing collections of accounts.
Investigates highly complex claims, evaluate alternative funding sources for patients in need, and propose procedures and systems in support of efficient workflows and maximization of reimbursement.
A Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Three (3+) or more years of relevant experience - recent facility/hospital billing and collections experience (not physician billing). Facility/hospital billing experience in combination with other
