Summary Responsible for Nationwide Arena day to day operations which includes changeover, housekeeping, maintenance, contractors, parking, event needs and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Directs, supervises and schedules all aspects of Operations, including changeover, housekeeping, event staffing (BOH) and receiving clerk. Coordinates the Operations activities with other departments and event related contractors to assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events. Implements and updates facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with NHL arena regulations as well as other events such as NCAA tournament events. Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments. Ensures that Operations Department receives pertinent information for the most effective use of the facility and staffing. Assists in the preparation of the Annual Operating Budget and recommends a capital budget for 1-year and 10-year long-range repairs and improvements to the facility. Fiscal responsibility for approved budgets as well. Maintain all building assets through inventory, repairs and recommendations for improvements and replenishment of such assets. Knows and ensures all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, Risk Management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed. Develops program to train all employees on Fire/Life Safety, Emergency and OSHA procedures. Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints. Conducts periodic staff meetings to discuss procedures, problems and policy changes. Works closely with the General Manager/Associate GM & Assistant GM in the preparation and negotiation of Service Agreements. Reviews contracts for compliance with events and /or government specifications and suitability for occupancy. Negotiates with vendors, unions, contractors and/or service providers. Direct contact with the following outside contractors: Pest Control, Sanitation, Communications, landscaping & housekeeping.
Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules, emergency procedures, safety and Risk Management policies in compliance with all Corporate and governmental regulations. Acts as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies. Assist GM in implementation of any energy saving guidelines. Coordinates and oversees special projects, such as construction, remodeling or expansion. Plans and directs outside vendors/contractors work to assure compliance with contracts and safety requirements. Serves as MOD (Manager on Duty) as required. Able to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Management or Maintenance Engineering; minimum of 5 years of experience and/or training in managing a facility or supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in NHL arena is highly recommended.
Communication Strong communication skills are required. Must be able to deal with all types of people from President’s of team organization, university, player and performers, promoter and tour management as well as part-time staff to suite holders and ticketed guest. Communication via email and text is used. Expected to represent the CBJAM team when required. This position is a part of the senior leadership team.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
