The Coordinator for Youth programs develops, implements and supervises community education youth programs and courses, oversees summer camp operations, and builds youth program revenues.
Duties include, but are not limited to, determining community interests and needs for programming; developing program and course schedules; assigning instructors and staff; developing course descriptions and curriculum for community education youth programs; expanding youth programs to include new courses reflective of current trends and emerging interests; overseeing summer camp programs to ensure effective and cohesive operation on a day-to-day-basis, ensuring compliance with and adherence to College, county, state, and federal regulations, guidelines, and policies for youth programs and summer camps; building youth program revenues; monitoring and reporting revenues and expenditures; developing and maintaining relationships with vendors, colleagues, and community organizations; collaborating with the Office of Communications to market youth program; managing vendor MOUs; providing statistical data and documentation as required; and seeking additional funding streams through grants, scholarships.
This is a full-time professional staff position.
A bachelor's degree in a related field and one to three years of relevant experience, including planning, coordinating, and supervising youth programs are required.
Applicants will be evaluated based on criteria including, but not limited to, demonstrated experience developing and managing creative, adaptable, and innovative youth programs that meet the needs of a diverse community; demonstrated financial acuity, including budget management and revenue generation; experience training and supervising staff; experience implementing policies and procedures, including risk management; knowledge of and ability to understand and comply with licensing guidelines and governing entities at the state and local levels for youth programs and summer camps; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities; and proficiency using technology in a Windows-based computer environment, including MS Office.
Applicants should be familiar with using an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system; Banner preferred.
A valid Maryland driver's license and certification in Adult/Infant/Child CPR/AED required.
Salary will be commensurate with education, licensure, and experience.
