Insurance Verification: Verifies and enters insurance information and authorization/referral requirements. Accuracy: Completes work assignments within established quality standards. Financial Counseling: Counsels patients on financial liability using available financial counseling tools to achieve maximum reimbursement for patient services. Revenue Cycle: Applies knowledge of organizational revenue cycle to achieve key performance indicators. Teaming: Contributes to fullest potential to achieve team goals. Patient Safety - Non-Nursing: Contributes to a safe patient care environment. Workload Management: Manages completion of work assignments based on priority and due dates. Uses operational and financial knowledge to support business unit(s) through policy development, rollout and implementation; process improvement initiatives (determined through feedback, observation, analysis of operational results), and staff training and development projects. Serves as a verifier for insurance benefits and coordinates third party billing, including researching insurance claims and denials for assigned payers. Acts as a liaison for the Behavioral Health department and other areas across the system. Also, will provide financial counseling to patient who have been admitted to the hospital. Will work with uninsured or underinsured patients and help them apply for government assistant programs or one of our Charity programs. Is the subject expert regarding insurance benefits, understanding of government regulatory compliance and insurance company's requirements. We work closely with case management to insure that the patients account is billable and collectable.
