ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF POLICY , Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)-North America , to work closely with the executive director in leading J-PAL North America's work in promoting and supporting the use of randomized evaluations to reduce poverty; disseminating evidence to inform social policy; and developing and managing high-level relationships with donors, policymakers, media, and researchers. Responsibilities include leading policy outreach strategy development and execution to scale effective social programs and policies, cultivating and managing inclusive collaborations with critical stakeholders and funders, providing strategic leadership to advance J-PAL North America's goals, and managing the policy team.
The position offers a significant opportunity to advance J-PAL North America's partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure that evidence contributes to public discourse around some of the most pressing questions in social policy.
REQUIRED : a master's or advanced degree in a relevant field such as economics, political science, or public policy; ten years of direct responsibility for policy or strategic partnership building in service to communities affected by poverty; an understanding of economics and quantitative research; demonstrated leadership and management experience, including hiring, training, and managing a diverse team to successfully complete projects on tight deadlines. Experience in a government, an academic research setting, and/or non-profit management preferred; as is experience conducting and/or supervising impact evaluations including randomized evaluations.
