Description of the Position Function background/context: In view of heightened expectations from regulators, and to ensure a strong & consistent global control environment, the Markets & Securities Services business is enhancing the Business Control and Supervision (BCS) function. This role, reporting to the Head of NAM BCS, will assist in the development of an enhanced control framework over MSS Pricing Risk across all businesses and locations within the M&SS business, partnering with Product Control, CAOs, Technology and Internal Audit.
This role plays a leading contribution to the strategic direction in the articulation and co-ordination of the internal control framework and takes direct ownership for the oversight of control processes functioning within the Front Office (first line of defense)
Work with Traders, business heads, supervisors, CAOs and control / functional heads, to further develop and deploy a best in class sales and trading related pricing control framework, including delivery mechanisms and content
Work with Product Control to develop standards and policies in relation to enhanced standards for trading practices in relation to pricing risk
Work with Technology and businesses / functions to efficiently build target state controls, system alerts, manager dashboards and re-engineer processes, to ensure effective controls across products and regions.
Enhance workflow management of relevant supervision processes, including escalation mechanisms for aged or unusual items
Evolve & enhance Manager Control Assessments (MCA) for all business lines globally
Develop target state "evidence" of controls - attestations, automated click to review dashboards etc. for the business
Interact with Audit and other Control groups to drive forward control enhancement initiatives and investigate control failures
Qualifications and Competencies
Product Control experience at a senior level.
Experience in delivering change-related projects
Experience in designing or assessing controls for Front office, Middle office or Operations
Very strong influence management and relationship skills
Leadership skills in bringing together processes that include different businesses, regions and support functions
Demonstrated strong business maturity in past roles
Excellent communicator - internal and external
Global mindset, with regional/product understanding
