The Research Contracts Administrator reviews, negotiates,and drafts material transfer agreements (MTAs), confidentiality agreements(CDAs), subaward agreements and other research contracts on behalf ofUTHSC. This position provides assistance in implementing and maintainingUTHSC policy and procedures regarding the transfer of proprietary (biological)materials, works closely with UTRF (University of Tennessee Research Foundation)with regard to the transfer of proprietary material, facilitate researchcontracts, and negotiates terms and conditions of various contracts as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Negotiates and/or drafts agreements, includingMTAs, CDAs, subawards, and other agreements, in collaboration with faculty,departmental staff, UTRF, Research Office, legal advisors, and otheradministrators on behalf of UTHSC.
Identifies and resolves risks in contractualterms and conditions not conforming to UTHSC policy or governing regulations.
Maintains on-going relationships with faculty,departmental staff, industry sponsors, academic institutions, vendors, andother entities involved in agreements underreview.
Provides campus, departmental, and one-on-onetraining related to MTAs, CDAs, research contracts, subawards, and otherdocuments, including UTHSC policies and procedures, and basic contractingissues.
Reviews, processes, and implements correctiveaction in administrative management of the negotiation process, when necessary,in order to represent the interests ofUTHSC.
Maintains negotiation status updates related tocontract documents.
Performs other duties as required.
