The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for directing the information technology (IT) and communication strategy, and data integrity of LifeShare. The CIO oversees and manages the Project Management Office. This scope includes all data centers, technical service centers, production scheduling functions, help desks, data communication networks, computer program development, and computer systems operations. The CIO provides overall management, definition, and strategic planning of all computer and communication activities within the organization; leadership in IT operations; and provides insight to the C-Suite and Board of Trustees on Information Technology and systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Meets and exceeds customer expectations and adheres to established quality practices while seeking to continually improve work performance. 2. Manages the information technology affairs of the organization while balancing technological, operational, and customer requirements with financial and marketing needs. 3. Interacts frequently with all levels of the organization’s leadership on internal and external operations that are affected by the capture, storage, processing and dissemination of information, including review and approval of all major contracts for IT services and equipment. 4. Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced. 5. Develops and maintains statements of necessary IT policies and procedures to assure proper documentation and communication of required controls in compliance with established quality practices, regulations, and statutes. 6. Works with Executive Leadership to ensure LifeShare effectively implements corporate strategic objectives by providing guidance and oversight on projects and programs. 7. Directs all IT activities and services and assists in evaluating the performance of IT staff to ensure proper coverage and performance of all necessary functions. 8. Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the IT department to include compliance with established operating procedures and adherence to established quality practices and regulations. 9. Oversees all organization computer services, laboratory computer systems, and management information systems including acquisition, installation, validation, security, and maintenance of all hardware and software while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and statutes. 10. Monitors and approves all requests for computer hardware, software, or programming to ensure that approved requests are submitted to the appropriate vendors and updates or changes are received in a timely manner and in compliance with established regulations or operating procedures. 11. Prepares and submits annual budget for departmental and organization wide computer and data communications equipment. 12. Maintains and solicits external links to other companies in the industry to gain competitive assessments and share information, where appropriate. 13. Identifies the emerging information technologies significantly impacting the organization and coordinates effective introduction, assimilation and integration. 14. Performs any and all other duties or projects as may be assigned.
