The Company is currently seeking a Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary to join its highly skilled senior management team. This position is to replace the current General Counsel upon his retirement. Located at the corporate headquarters in Colmar, PA, and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will oversee the Company’s 2-person legal department and when necessary, obtain and oversee the work of outside counsel. As head of the company’s legal department, this individual will provide senior management and the board of directors with effective advice on the Company’s strategies and their implementation, as well as the Company’s corporate governance policies and practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing counsel and guidance on all legal matters, including major business transactions and acquisitions, corporate governance, SEC disclosure matters, litigation, and employment.
Dorman (NASDAQ: DORM) is a leading supplier of replacement parts and fasteners for passenger cars, light trucks, and heavy duty trucks in the automotive aftermarket. It distributes and markets approximately 216,000 different SKUs of automotive replacement parts and fasteners which are sold under several DORMAN® brands (OE Solutions™, HELP!®, HD Solutions®, and its premium chassis line Premium XL™, Premium RD™ and MAS™ brands). Its products are sold primarily in the United States through automotive and heavy vehicle aftermarket retailers, national, regional and local warehouse distributors, specialty markets and salvage yards.
A competitive compensation package, consisting of a base salary, bonus and equity, will be offered for this position, consistent with the candidate’s level of experience.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of legal experience that includes 12+ years of corporate transactional experience. Candidates with significant public company experience are strongly preferred. In-house experience at a global company is required.
Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania or admitted to a State Bar of any U.S. State or the District of Columbia and eligible for a PA Limited In-House Counsel License.
