UW Medicine Accounting has an outstanding opportunity for a Fiscal Technician 3, University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) Accounting. This is a part-time, 50% FTE position with a Monday through Friday work schedule. This individual will be responsible for the following:Customer Service - Respond positively to customer requests and questions and provide prompt service and accurate information to both those who visit the Cashier Counter in person or who contact the office by telephone. Assist customers sent by other departments for more technical or complex payment needs.Clinic and Cashier Deposits – Receive, process and verify daily deposits from medical center departments. Balance payment activity with clinic and other records provided and assist with the research and resolution of errors. Receive and post payments to patient accounts. Consolidate daily deposits, maintain tracking logs and prepare daily closing reports timely and accurately. Special Deposits - Process specialized deposits as needed including for the Roosevelt and Eastside Clinics, Parking, Cafeteria, Gift Shop and other hospital operations. Policies and Procedures - Understand and follow cash handling and other hospital policies and procedures to maintain patient confidentiality and provide for financial accountability. Ability to communicate concerns to supervisor.Other Duties - Perform other duties as directed or assigned to assure department needs are met. REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma, or GED certificate AND fifteen quarter hours or ten semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping AND two years of full-time experience as a Fiscal Technician, or equivalent, including experience using accounting-related software; An Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in accounting or business may substitute for one year of required experience.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.DESIRED:Demonstrated work experience using Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products. Epic Cash Drawer experience. Attention to detail and ownership over assigned work responsibilities. Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate in a public-facing role and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
