The Curtis Laws Wilson Library of the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) invites applications for the position of Access Services Librarian.
Reporting to the Dean of the Library, the Access Services Librarian has overall responsibility for the library's public services operations including circulation, interlibrary loan, document delivery, and course reserves. The librarian is responsible for developing and encouraging a positive user-centered approach to customer service. Additionally the librarian will be performing library outreach activities and must be able to work collaboratively with library colleagues as well as the broader campus community. The librarian will actively participate in local library and consortia committees.
Manage the public services area within an academic library, including circulation, interlibrary loan, document delivery, and course reserves
Oversee hiring, training, and scheduling in public services
Provide reference services to patrons as needed
Develop and provide workshops and other library instruction as needed
Assist with the library's social media presence and library outreach, including promotion, event planning, and collaboration with other campus entities
Participate in the collection and compilation of statistics and reports
Collaborate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Master's degree in Library and Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association
Ability to lift, handle, and move books and other material
At least two years of experience in a library setting
Previous work experience in an academic library
Evidence of successful and creative management of staff and operations
Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
Knowledge and experience with relevant research databases and resources
Previous teaching experience and familiarity with best practices, trends, and assessment strategies related to library instruction
Experience with library social media, marketing, and outreach
Experience with library assessment
Experience with commonly used library systems and technology
