Position Summary: Technical and Programmatic Lead for the NJIT Physics AddLab and the NJIT Army ARDEC ADAPT Project.
Essential Functions: • Supervise and direct the lab strategically, building on existing competencies, leveraging funding from existing relationships, and developing new opportunities. • Supervise the AddLab staff, including the lab manager and staff members. • Supervise undergraduate student research throughout the year, and run the summer internship. • Assist with supervision of AddLab graduate students. • Direct workforce development to align with the skills needed by corporate partners. • Prepare Monthly reports, and assist in the final and technical reports. • Maintain records of lab equipment, including (GFE) government funded equipment. • Assist in GFE reporting, budgeting for the lab, and proposal writing. • Serve as liaison with sponsors and corporate partners, especially Army ARDEC. • Track and report on contractual deliverables (prototypes, equipment purchases, and reports) for the AddLab, for collaborating faculty members, and for subcontractors. • Team with existing partners (including ARDEC, Imperial Machine, and SI2) to leverage funding and develop the skillsets that the partners look for in their workforce.
Prerequisite Qualifications: • Master’s degree. • 2+ years of experience in laboratory management and research.
