We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to work within the Global Banking (GB) Basel 3 Reform Programme, this role leads the Collateral work stream which is mandated to capture GB, Commercial Banking (CMB), and Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) requirements for and deliver a new Collateral Management System.
Project Management jobs are accountable for successful delivery of the project and ensuring benefits realisation. Projects may be standalone or part of a wider programme of activity and may be located in project teams as well as BAU teams.
Project Management jobs may have reports, these may be Business Analysts, Work stream leads, PMO staff or admin support staff. Project Management jobs may report to a Programme Managers or a Senior Project Manager or may report to a Business Manager.
The Project Management role will hold most or all of these responsibilities:
Influence the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes.
Manage and plan resources, responsibilities and schedules.
Establish effective project controls and procedures and quality assurance processes
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks to project or programme leadership and committees as appropriate and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation.
Provide management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC
Drive the adoption of HSBC project standards and work in alignment with HSBC project methodology at all times.
Lead the team to meet performance targets aligned to objectives
Particular expertise is required around:
Prior experience working within HSBC is highly desirable
Experience leading successful regulatory projects / work-streams within the financial sector and ideally within wholesale banking
Understanding of end-to-end credit process and knowledge of collateral management systems and credit risk systems in general, ideally gained within delivery of regulatory projects
Previous delivery of CRD4 and Basel 2/3 is also desirable
Working with agile project delivery
Excellent presentation, interpersonal and negotiation skills, stakeholder engagement and management
Excellent understanding of the project lifecycle
Excellent understanding of HSBC Business Transformation Frameworks and best practice techniques.
A thorough understanding of the purpose, value, culture and fundamentals of HSBC Transformation
Strong understanding of banking / HSBC and understanding of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders
Credit Risk framework
Collateral management within a wholesale banking environment
Understanding of the regulatory framework within which HSBC operates globally and Basel III accord
Understanding of risk management and credit mitigants
Knowledge of the full spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services from risk perspective
Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise
Risk system architecture across Risk sub-functions - where relevant.
Proven track record as a highly effective Project Manager within the financial sector and ideally on regulatory projects within wholesale banking
People manager and broad experience in managing teams of different work streams
Examples of the delivery of on time and on budget projects that achieve business case stated outcomes - a driver with bias towards delivery at pace and controlling project outcomes
Stakeholder management experience, especially impactful communication, influencing and running project governance
Implementation, change management and benefits realisation
Prior experience within HSBC is desirable
Prior experience of delivering a collateral management solution is desirable
