Rider University seeks an Officer in the Department of Public Safety at our Princeton campus. Among the primary responsibilities will be conducting a systematic patrol of buildings and grounds to protect the contents, occupants, and visitors; instantly responding to alarms, evaluating situations, advising the supervisor, and documenting the situations; regulating traffic and parking; advising facilities of all malfunctions through computer generated work orders; and documenting and securing all lost and found items.
Successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a college degree is preferred. Additional requirements include: police, fire fighting, security or military experience; be at least 21 years of age; good physical stamina; must have, or be willing to obtain within one year, CPR certification; willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime; excellent interpersonal skills; and demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure. This position requires a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
