Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $70,000-85,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Involves analytical studies on a variety of policies, projects, programs and issues in support of a function, research initiatives, program and/or organizational unit, or in research of new or changing systems and programs. Assists in policy and program planning, development, administration, management and implementation; interprets, monitors and analyzes information regarding policies and procedures and provides consultative services to department administrators and other stakeholders.
Uses advanced operational concepts and objectives to resolve highly complex issues reviewing and creating assessments. Regularly works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for creating high quality English language arts/literacy (ELA/literacy) assessments in grades 3-8 and high school. Primarily deals with programs and proposals with broad impact across the function, research initiative, program and/or organization. Develops and oversees the implementation of new programs and processes.
UC Smarter Balanced is a large-scale, online assessment program that serves 6M students and 400,000 educators in California and across the nation. Governed by a consortium of member states, UC Smarter Balanced executive committee, governing board, and K-12 educators provide valuable input into the design and delivery of standardized assessment for states, territories, and Bureau of Indian Affairs. The program is organized within the division of continuing education, UCSC Extension, University of California, Santa Cruz. Our headquarters is located at UCSC Silicon Valley Campus, 3175 Bowers Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95054.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Advanced knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Must be able to work remotely from a home office.
Must be able to occasionally travel.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
