The Corporate Ratings Practice in EMEA is continuing to develop our ratings franchise in a dynamic area of strong growth. We have an opening for an experienced leveraged finance professional to join our leveraged finance and recovery team. Team members are senior experts with respect to the leveraged loan and high yield bond markets. The team operates across all sectors, and helps sector analysts and rating committees to assess how changes in corporate structure and documentation impact a borrower's credit profile and/or the risk of particular debt instruments. As part of the team, the successful candidate will in particular focus on maintaining and developing our relationships with investors, issuers, sponsors, advisors and other stakeholders; identifying and publishing thought leadership on leveraged finance trends; and speaking at external and internal seminars and conferences.
Represent S&P Global Ratings in high profile events and as a spokesperson on EMEA Leveraged Finance
Establish an on-going dialogue with key market participants in the Leveraged Finance Market, to build on our existing relationships and develop new relationships
Coordinate with the global Leveraged Finance leadership as well as sector leads in EMEA and other regions on research and outreach initiatives
Undertake research and analytical thought leadership pieces, working closely with other analysts to develop and lead activities in support of S&P Global Ratings published research and analysis for the EMEA Leveraged Finance team
Participate in management meetings and committees for high profile or sensitive issuers, and support and assist senior analysts in preparing for management meetings and internal credit committees
Participate in analytical educational meetings to provide insight on our analytical approach
Provide knowledge and insights to analytical teams and identify key local credit and market feedback trends and escalate to the EMEA analytical leadership team
Take the lead on special projects within the Global Leveraged Finance team as appropriate
Relevant experience in leveraged credit markets in a buy-side, sell-side, advisory or rating agency role, preferably with exposure to multiple industry sectors.
Track record of strong communication skills to build-on and manage relationships with key local clients and influencers, and develop new relationships as part of EMEA Leveraged Finance market outreach activities
Track record of detecting, and commenting on, sector trends in Leveraged Finance areas.
Understanding of leveraged finance documentation and corporate structure, understanding of pertinent insolvency and corporate law concepts.
Familiarity with distressed securities and financial restructuring, direct participation in cross-border financial restructurings.
Team player with ability to motivate, develop and elevate others.
Willing and able to operate in a fast-changing environment and across a global matrix organization.
Willing and able to travel.
