Northern Essex Community College serves approximately 6,000 credit students each semester on two campuses located in the beautiful, historic Merrimack Valley region of northeast Massachusetts. Our suburban Haverhill campus sits on 106 acres near Kenoza Lake and features a new Technology Center and an award-winning Student One-Stop Center. Our urban Lawrence campus is growing rapidly, including a new Health Technologies Center and additional leased space at Riverwalk Properties. FULL-TIME PROGRAM COORDINATOR, DENTAL ASSISTING: Department of Health Professions; 37.5 hours/week; MCCC/MTA Unit Faculty Position
Anticipated Start Date: September 3, 2019
Teach online and laboratory courses in Dental Assisting.
Organize, administer, and evaluate comprehensive program effectiveness including student participation in off-site clinical internships.
Conduct on-going program review and assessment.
Participate in developing and monitoring the program budget.
Responsible for compliance with, and achievement of, programmatic accreditation.
Direct curriculum development, implementation, assessment and revision using defined program and student learning outcomes.
Maintain office hours and advise students.
Participate in college service activities.
Bachelor's degree, with credentials in Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene or Dentistry required.
Current dental assisting, dental hygiene or dental practitioner license is required.
At least three (3) years' full-time experience in dental assisting, dental hygiene or dental practice is required, with current competency in clinical practice.
Demonstrate currency in professional discipline through continuing education, professional development, and/ or scholarly activity.
Two (2) years' full time experience as an instructor in a dental assisting or dental hygiene program required, preferably in a community college setting.
Demonstrated ability to teach within, and contribute positively to a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment required.
Knowledge of curriculum development, program accreditation, implementation and assessment; including evidence of competence in employing instructional methods and techniques appropriate to different student learning style required.
Demonstrated ability to work collegially as a leader and as a team member required.
Master's degree in Dental Hygiene or health-related field.
SALARY: $50,000.00 - $57,500.00 annually with complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience. Complete fringe benefit package.
