This Government Relations Intern will be responsible for:
Supporting the Government Relations team in their work at the city, state and federal levels as necessary to support the Hospital's policy agenda.
Performing research and data analysis as directed by members of the Government Relations team.
Supporting the team to plan and execute tours and events designed to educate government officials and community leaders about the Hospital.
Accompanying Government Relations team members to relevant coalition meetings and community events.
Assisting the team in working on Children's Advocacy Network (CAN) activities, including linking CAN to social media outlets, tracking communication with legislators, researching legislation, etc.
Assisting the team in facilitating briefing and training of BCH staff, volunteers, parents, etc. in advocacy efforts.
Providing some administrative support to Government Relations team members, including maintaining record-keeping systems, scheduling appointments and meetings, collecting and recording information in Hospital and departmental databases.
To qualify, you must have:
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.
A minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
A strong interest in the legislative process and a commitment to advocating for child health.
Strong writing and analytical skills.

The Office of Government Relations works with policy decision-makers at the local, state, and national levels to uphold the hospital's mission of providing exceptional clinical care, research, and training for pediatric providers. We work with our partners within the legislature and throughout the community to develop and advocate for policy solutions to keep young people safe and healthy.
The schedule is flexible based on class schedule, consecutive days preferred. We have 2 summer internship positions available.
