General Statement of Duties:
The Executive Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the management of student financial aid in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Supervision Received: The Executive Director reports to the Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs or designee.
Supervision Exercised: This position is responsible for the supervision and activities of the staff in the Office of Financial Aid.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for oversight of all operations of the Office of Financial Aid.
Implements all federal and state programs, policies, services and regulations for financial aid.
Recommends college policy and procedures to be in compliance with state and federal financial aid regulations.
Training and evaluation of staff in the Office of Financial Aid.
Coordinates financial aid advising for students and disseminates Office of Financial Aid policy and procedures to the college community.
Maintains systematic flow of information through regularly scheduled department and college meetings.
Arbitrates student financial aid issues in accordance with College, Commonwealth and federal policy.
Works effectively as a team member with all college departments.
Recommends and manages annual department budget.
Represents Roxbury Community College in the community.
Other duties as assigned.

Baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher education in the US.
Five years experience in the administration of financial aid at an accredited institution of higher education institution.
Knowledge of all US Department of Education regulations and policies governing the administration of financial aid at the community college.
Commitment to maintaining knowledge of current and pending federal and state regulations.
Experience in an urban, multicultural higher education environment.
A seasoned manager, diplomat and leader with strong organizational and team-building skills and the ability to inspire faculty with diverse interests.
Evenings and weekend availability.
Knowledge of PowerFAIDS, Microsoft Office applications, and ability to learn new software requirements.
