Involves analytical studies on a variety of policies, projects, programs and issues in support of a function, research initiatives, program and / or organizational unit, or in research of new or changing systems and programs. Assists in policy and program planning, development, administration, management and implementation; interprets, monitors and analyzes information regarding policies and procedures and provides consultative services to department administrators and other stakeholders.
Establishes schedules and goals based on the objectives of the consortium and industry standards for psychological testing. Responsible for managing the data analysis and psychometric unit, and the staff and activities related to data analysis, data cleaning, and psychometrics. Develops long term and short-term project plans and the staffing / financial needs to complete them. Ensures staff document processes and implement quality controls. Collaborates with senior leadership and technical advisors to develop strategies to solve complex issues regarding assessment and instruction.
UC Smarter Balanced is a large-scale, online assessment program that serves 6M students and 400,000 educators in California and across the nation. Governed by a consortium of member states, UC Smarter Balanced executive committee, governing board, and K-12 educators provide valuable input into the design and delivery of standardized assessment for states, territories, and Bureau of Indian Affairs. The program is organized within the division of continuing education, UCSC Extension, University of California, Santa Cruz. Our headquarters is located at UCSC Silicon Valley Campus, 3175 Bowers Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95054.
Bachelor's degree in Information Processing, Psychology, Sociology or related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with leadership, and lead and direct subordinates.
Thorough knowledge of organization processes, protocols, research and procedures.
Extensive analytical / problem-solving skills.
Comprehensive project management skills.
Must be able to work remotely from a home office.
Ability to travel when needed.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
