Director, Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Program Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone
The Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital (HCH) at NYU Langone and NYU School of Medicine Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (DCAP) are seeking a full-time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as the Director of the Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation Liaison (CL) Program. The Director along with CL service psychiatrists, psychologists, and and fellows provide high quality evidenced-based, family-centered, innovative psychiatric care across HCH’s inpatient, intensive care, perioperative, acute rehabilitation, and emergency services. The Director will also oversee educational experiences for psychiatry, psychology, and pediatric trainees as well as for the children’s hospital multidisciplinary team. In collaboration with children’s hospital and cross-departmental leaders, the Director will oversee the development and implementation of CL-related best practice standards, clinical pathways, quality and safety, research, and education initiatives. The Director of CL will also collaborate with the Director of Psychology, Integrated Behavioral Health Programs, and Medical Director of Collaborative Care, to design, implement, and evaluate innovative integrated care models within pediatric specialty and primary care. Prospective candidates should demonstrate strong clinical skills and fund of knowledge in the assessment and treatment of a range of mental health conditions relevant to a children’s hospital population. In addition, candidates should have interest and experience in program administration, supervision and mentorship, and building collaborative relationships across departments and disciplines. Triple board, pediatric portal, CL fellowship trained applicants, or those candidates with CL service leadership experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must be board eligible/certified in general and child/adolescent psychiatry. All positions will include an appointment at NYU Medical School along with teaching opportunities.
