The Data Management manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the data management framework and providing support in carrying out data management activities for the data owners and data users for the company. The Data Management manager is also responsible for managing the Corporate Banking portfolio reporting and RWA data quality assurance program.
The data management position is integral to the data architecture, data quality, data modelling and design, data exchange, data security, metadata, and reference and master data management. The department undertakes a complex role in ensuring a robust data governance and portfolio reporting structure while the regulatory and market requirements are constantly changing.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITES:
§ Own local data management framework and overall implementation of data ownership, data usership and data management across ABN AMRO USA (excluding Clearing).
§ Oversee and run the data management and data quality program, including issue management locally.
Portfolio risk reporting and special topics:
§ Oversee and ensure the preparation of Portfolio Report.
§ Manage portfolio information and analysis to CIB senior management, monitoring credit portfolio, provide support with changes in regulation and risk methodologies, improving data quality, RWA accuracy, and provides management information, direction and guidance.
§ Explains developments and participates in expert discussions in the portfolio or specific segments by analyzing causes of changes in RWA, and in the PD, LGD and EAD risk parameters.
Supports Business Heads, and overall US operations:
§ Supports the overall US operations with the local data management framework and US business heads with portfolio reporting.
§ Maintains compliance with Head Office and local US policies.
§ Ensures a robust control framework ensuring risks are mitigated with adequately designed and effective controls.
§ Initiates continuous improvement efforts providing insight and innovative thinking to improve processes and support automation.
Education and Experience
§ Bachelors degree in economics, business administration, statistics, mathematics or similar qualification. Master degree is strongly preferred.
§ Minimum of 10 years of related risk management and/or data management experience within a global financial institution.
§ 3-5 years of management experience. Demonstrated experience in leading and developing professional staff. Strong background in portfolio reporting and RWAs as well as in data governance and management. Compliance oriented background with knowledge of the regulatory environment
