The Department of Prevention and Community Health in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University seeks a full-time tenure track or tenured Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We encourage candidates from diverse disciplines (e.g., public health, economics, public policy, psychology, sociology, education, or a related methodological field) to apply.
The Milken Institute School of Public Health has a diverse and growing faculty, with a rapidly expanding research portfolio. As the only school of public health in the nation's capital, faculty and students have a unique opportunity to work closely with government and non-governmental organizations headquartered in DC. The Department of Prevention and Community Health comprises faculty from across many disciplines, conducting both domestic and international research focused on the social determinants of health and health promotion at various social ecological levels. Faculty within the Department are funded by external research grants and contracts from a broad range of local, state and federal agencies as well as from public and private philanthropy. Along with this vibrant research environment, the Department also has a commitment to training and mentoring students, having recently launched a PhD Program in Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health (SBS).
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a field related to social and behavioral methods with advanced methodological training. Applicants must have a proven track-record of peer-reviewed publications, demonstrated record of external funding, and have prior teaching experience in social and behavioral quantitative research methods, research design, and/or statistical methods and analytics at the master's and/or doctoral levels.
