Budget Title: Staff Associate (SL-4)
Recruitment (roughly 50% of time):
Generate ideas and implementing strategies for increasing the number, quality and diversity of students in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program
Schedule and conduct information and recruitment sessions on a regular basis (on campus, off campus, in surrounding communities, and online) for the MPA program
Utilize social media to promote the MPA program among prospective applicants
Serve on the CCPA Enrollment Management committee as a representative of the MPA and SUST programs
Schedule and conduct off-campus information and recruitment sessions for the Sustainable Communities (SUST) program
Assist with processing of applications for the SUST program
Work closely with the Director of MPA Admissions and Student Services to coordinate recruitment and admissions activities
Internship Placement (roughly 40% of time):
Work with community-based organizations to develop internship placements for students
Advise students on internship search and application strategies
Conduct mandatory information sessions for MPA students regarding internships
Review and make determinations on internship waiver requests
Coordinate the review of MOUs for internship placements
Provide oversight of all MPA internships, including mid-session reviews with site supervisors, final evaluations from site supervisors, and assessments of internship summaries
Maintain records on the MPA internship program
Generate ideas and implementing strategies for increasing the variety and the quality of internship placements to meet student interests
Miscellaneous (Alumni Relations, Social Media, and Teaching) (roughly 10% of time):
Work with the Department Chair, SUST Program Director, Director of Admissions and Student Services, and Department Secretary to coordinate student services
Manage the MPA Facebook page and other social media
Manage internship and job postings for current and alumni listservs
Maintain information on alumni contacts
Oversee the instruction and grading of PAFF 502 and 503
Contribute to internal and external reports as they relate to internship and alumni placements
Teach an undergraduate summer or winter course on some aspect of public service
MPA, MPP, MPAff or related degree
Recruiting and internship placement
Valid/clean driver's license to operate a motor vehicle
Experience in SLATE and BANNER
