This is a very rare opportunity to join an exceptional team at a senior level, really making a difference in driving the effectiveness of the compliance regime. The role will almost certainly develop into the Deputy Head of Compliance for Europe position. In any event the candidate will almost certainly be the second most senior in the department and would be expected to deputise in the Head of Compliance's absence.
The primary responsibility of this Compliance Director position is to lead and manage the Advisory Compliance team of the EU and Ireland.
You will provide assistance to senior management in implementing controls and procedures, support in business development, change initiatives and projects.
Provide technical advice and guidance on UCITS, AIFMD, CASS, EMIR, COBS, SUSC and AML
Preparing reports and attending Fund Boards and committees
Liaising with the other Compliance teams (Monitoring, Financial Crime and Ireland)
Support the Head of Compliance in liaising with the FCA
At least 12 years Compliance Experience, at least two thirds of which in a dedicated compliance role (ie not risk / governance) in an Asset Management firm. The last 3 years at least must be in a compliance role in an Asset Management firm.
A strong degree in a relevant subject. Additional compliance qualifications would be an advantage
A good knowledge of asset classes (equity, fixed income, private finance, loans, derivatives.
A good knowledge UCITS, AIFMD, CASS, EMIR, COBS, SUSC and AML
A good knowledge of sales and distribution compliance within Asset Management.
I'm receiving many CV's for Compliance Director positions at the moment and while I try and apply to them all, even if they are not right, I may not be able to do so. In this case, my client is very particular about the background of the candidate. Unless you tick all the boxes above, it is highly unlikely your application won't go forward.
