The Academic Personnel Analyst 3 is the School of Nursing's technical lead for all academic personnel actions, policies, and procedures related to recruitments, appointments, merits/promotions, salary administration, visas, and compensation plan. Provide recommendations to the Dean and Executive Associate Dean regarding strategies to address sensitive situations related to academic appointments and advancement, leaves of absence, sabbatical, compensation plan and other AP issues that affect the goals of the School. Act as SON's primary liaison to the Faculty Executive Committee and Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. Represent SON on campus and UC-Wide meetings and committees; communicate recommendations and policy changes. Serve as member of UC Davis AP Expert community, advising other AP professionals within and external to the SON.-Experience in an academic personnel setting required.-Advanced knowledge of UC policies and procedures governing the Academic Senate, Academic Federation, Postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and collective bargaining as it relates to academic appointments (e.g. Faculty, Postdocs, Specialists, GSRs, TAs). -Familiarity with Health Sciences Compensation Plan administration highly desirable.-Experience interpreting and articulating academic personnel policies, procedures and processes to advise others and participate in assessing business processes and projects.-Experience assessing problems and developing recommendations.-Exceptional analytical skills with proven ability to analyze issues, develop strategic solutions and make professional recommendations.-Interpersonal and communication skills to professionally and collaboratively convey information, and provide training and direction to other AP analysts.-Demonstrated working knowledge of procedures in payroll policy including ability to use the UC Davis Payroll Personnel System (PPS) or UC Path/ PeopleSoft, MyInfoVault (MIV), RECRUIT. Knowledge of DaFis, and MyTravel, E-Value, Qualtrics desirable.-Advanced computer skills, knowledge of and expertise with computer programs such as WebEx, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.-Analytical skills and experience to research and interpret data and policy, contribute to generalized systemwide resolutions and to make recommendations.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT-Must be able to work variable schedule as needed.-THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
