Assistant Professor – Social Work Department of Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Sociology College of Humanities and Social Sciences
Teach 12 credit hours of undergraduate courses per semester as assigned
Conduct research in area(s) of expertise
Support department, college, and university service
Provide academic advising of students
Ph.D. or ABD in Social Work (with Ph.D. by August 1, 2019) with a Master’s in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)
Minimum of two years full-time post-MSW social work experience
Experience teaching at the college/university level as an assistant professor or above
Experience or interest in teaching across the undergraduate social work curriculum; the ability to teach in research/statistics is a plus
Demonstrated ability to engage in research with potential for external funding
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community (advising, organization, training, boards, leadership)
Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multicultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
