Department: Greenberg Child Care Center Classification: Non-Exempt - Staff Job Summary: The Greenberg Childcare Center at Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time 12-month teaching position with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with college student teacher aides; as well as the ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds. He/she must also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate planning. This candidate must be able to lift at least 30 lbs., pass a physical exam and background checks. Must complete 30 hours of training in various areas of child care and development every 2 years (15 hours must be completed during the first 6 months of employment). Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
