We are currently seeking an engineering data administrator to join our engineering team in Bakersfield, California. The Engineering Admin position provides direct support to our Engineering Design team to help develop and configure programs to automate our engineering data workflow, information transfer, archiving and querying processes. The goal of these programs is to unburden our design engineers of repetitive tasks so they can focus more on development and completion of engineering design projects. Identify and implement process and engineering data workflow improvements.
Develops templates and automation to reduce engineering effort and improve quality.
Configures Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Product Data Management (PDM) and their ancillary platforms.
Perform engineering data modeling. Leads initiatives to audit and clean legacy product data as models evolve.
Develop/maintain standard operating procedures and training materials to assist user community and future administrators.
Assists in developing integration solution architecture and processes between engineering and manufacturing departments.
Develops Key Performance Indicators and publishes dashboards/reports to manufacturing, marketing, accounting and executive management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of 3D modeling and drafting for SolidWorks.
An understanding of Bill of Materials and Part Maintenance in a PDM.
An understanding of product design for a manufacturing company.
An understanding of PDM interface and dialog with ERP systems.
Knowledge of drafting protocols and standards such as ASME Y14.5.
Template modeling experience in SolidWorks.
Automation development experience with CAD system Application Program Interfaces (API’s).
Ability to work well in a team environment.
An orientation toward personal growth and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of modeling in a CAD system. SolidWorks highly preferred.
Experience working with a PDM system preferred.
Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system preferred.
Experience in configuration with a manufacturing company preferred.
Experience with aftermarket automotive products preferred.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The regular work hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position may require additional hours and/or weekend work. Meal and rest break entitlements will be provided according to all applicable federal and state laws.
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
