Work within a team that provides a variety of services essential to research personnel involved in academic and government sponsored research grants and contracts.
Support the investigators in the submission and administration of contracts and grant proposals from various funding agencies, including federal and foundation sponsors.
Develop budgets and justifications
Compile biographical sketches, other support information, letters of support and resource documents.
Take charge of developing training grant data tables and updating the MFACTIR database.
Proof read application documents for grammar, sentence structure, etc.
Edit tables and graphs in science documents
Answer incoming research center phone calls and ensure calls are routed to the proper individuals.
Assist with annual Research Symposium and monthly Research Conference, schedule People Pay, travel itineraries, room reservations, ordering food
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor degree and 2 or more years of grant and contract experience.
Considerable experience in administrative liaison work
Excellent writing, interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, excellent attention to detail, demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and complex grant and contract research environment both independently and as part of an office team
Considerable knowledge of university policies and procedures, organizational practices, and protocols
Good computer skills, particularly using an electronic calendaring
