The Inova Systems Headquarters in Falls Church, VA is seeking an Accountant 2 .
The Senior Accountant is knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applies basic concepts in all aspects of work. The Senior Accountant is knowledgeable of Internal Control systems and both utilizes and supports these systems through daily accounting activities. The Senior Accountant exhibits keen analytical skills. The Senior Accountant has knowledge and experience in the application of accounting procedures including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and basic financial reports.
Duties include but not limited to:
Perform monthly close routines and assist with the monthly close processes and schedule
Prepare and review journal entries to include sufficient documentation/support
Analyze financial statements and general ledger accounts
Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and schedules
Prepare financial statements and reports for management
Perform research and analysis to resolve accounting discrepancies
Provide documentation and assist with coordination of internal and external audits
Perform special projects and other analyses
Other duties as assigned
Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
Experience: 2 years of Accounting and Finance experience required. 4+ total years of experience in accounting, including a combination of: 2+ years of similar experience at a top accounting firm. 2+ years of healthcare experience working with physician practices, hospitals/health systems, health plans or related types of entities preferred.
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, economics, business management, or other related field required.
Certification: CPA preferred
Special Skills: Spreadsheet skills, word processing, computerized financial systems. Excel, Word, Lawson general ledger preferred; Hyperion experience also preferred.
