The department of Infectious Diseases is currently seeking a Clinical Services Technician (CST to provide clinical and clerical support.
This position will report to the Practice Manager and will interact with staff, physicians, nurses, and a diverse patient population.
Clinical duties will include responsibilities with the scope of the license/certification such as taking medical history and vital signs, reconciling medication, intake of patient calls and communicating test results.
Clerical duties will include obtaining prior authorization on patient testing, authorizing prescription refills as directed, communicating patient health issues and taking verbal orders, completing registration, and collecting fees.
Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills necessary. Rooming patients, calling in refills, electronic medical records, computer skills, calling patients.

Required Related Experience:
Required License/Registration/Certification :
Have one or more of the following: 1. Kentucky Registered SRNA, 2. RN nursing student who has completed first fundamental course and a clinical, 3. Military Medic, 4. Acquired clinical services technician (CST) competencies through continuous employment in a CST role at UKHC for 12 months, 5. Graduate from a medical assistant program. BLS at time of hire through American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider.
CMA plus one or more years previous nursing assistance experience in an outpatient physician practice preferred.
