About the Position:
TruHearing has undertaken numerous compliance obligations due to both its role as a provider of health care services as well as its relationships with numerous health plans around the country. These obligations include those associated with HIPAA/HITECH and Medicare Advantage compliance. TruHearing also maintains accreditation and audit reports such as NCQA Credentialing, SOC1 and SOC2, and HITRUST.
The Internal IT Compliance Auditor will help to ensure that TruHearing
1. Constantly seeks to improve and strengthen its compliance with applicable regulations and standards;
2. Is consistently prepared for external audits from government regulators, health plan partners, accrediting organizations, and SOC and HITRUST auditors;
3. Successfully navigates external audits.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Performs and controls the full audit cycle for internal audits of systems and processes, with particular focus on IT security procedures
Prepares reports of audit findings, and makes recommendations for improvement
Assist in developing annual audit plans
As assigned, assists in responding to external audit requests from regulators, health plan partners, accrediting organizations, and SOC and HITRUST auditors
2-3 years’ experience as an auditor
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, security or information technology. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or other relevant field accompanied by demonstrated knowledge of IT systems will also be considered.
CISA, CIA, CISSP, CPA or similar certification preferred
Experience in SOC1, SOC2, and or HITRUST audits is not required but highly favored
Strong sense of commitment to compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
Ability to adapt and learn new regulations and standards, and to plan audit procedures for new requirements
Excellent communication and presentation skills needed to present reports that reflect audit results and document the process
Keen sense for details including ability to identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings strategies
Ability to consistently and accurately manipulate large amounts of data and to compile clear, detailed reports
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently
