Active and effective risk management is at the core of Schroders' business and is regarded as a key competence by clients, consultants, regulators, counterparties, shareholders, internal stakeholders and other interested parties. Group Risk works closely with the other governance functions (Compliance, Group Internal Audit and Group Legal) in order to identify risks and provide independent challenge and oversight to the group's risk profile. The Group Risk function team consists of specialists in the following areas:
- Credit Risk - Operational Risk - Investment Risk / Portfolio Compliance / Methodology & Analytics - Insurance - Emerging Risk, Capital Modelling and Stress Testing - Risk Governance and Group Policy - Enterprise Risk
In addition to these specialists, resources are based in Asia, the Americas and Europe and are responsible for ensuring that the risk management process is effectively implemented in each region. Key Responsibilities
Become a recognised subject matter expert at Schroders in business continuity, crisis management and operational resilience.
Become a key point of contact in providing guidance and support to the business in fulfilling their designated responsibilities in these areas.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the business, working in partnership with them to ensure all BC plans are effective and fit for purpose.
Work with the business and technology to ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery testing is robust, the results are appropriately reported and issues identified effectively addressed.
Be the key user and become proficient with the group planning tool, to develop and maintain BC plans and to ensure an appropriate level of data quality within the system is maintained.
Work with colleagues within Group Risk to develop Schroders Operational Resilience Framework ensuring that a framework is developed which fully integrates and recognises all the key components (people, processes, suppliers, facilities, systems and business services).
Background/ Essential Skills
A demonstrable interest or background in business continuity planning, crisis management or operational resilience either through experience or a degree/ industry recognised qualification and direct work experience.
A desire to develop a deep and broad understanding of all aspects business continuity planning, crisis management and operational resilience. Including a willingness to obtain industry certifications such as the CBCI (Certificate of Business Continuity Institute).
An ability to communicate appropriately with different levels of the business and develop effective working relationships.
An ability to work in a structured and organised fashion and a willingness to undertake administrative activities as required.
Strong numerical skills combined with good written communication skills.
A competent user of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
