Responsibilities Program Development: In coordination with academic leadership, create Data Science External Relations programs and closely related programs. Together with the Dean, Director of Operations, and Divisional faculty and staff leadership, develop structure and processes of an emerging Berkeley Education Alliance in Data Science and its related programs; collaboration and coordination with departments (and analogous), institutes, centers, and student groups associated with the Division; develop external advisory board. Revise and Execute Programs: Create, execute and monitor budgets for External Relations programs. Produce regular and proactive reports. Work in coordination with pertinent staff and faculty to develop marketing materials, invitational mailings, documentation of membership benefits, and available classes of membership. Develops and oversees delivery of events that incorporate the needs of campus partners and constituents. Supervise planning and facilitation of industrial partner events, conferences, retreats, and other research or industrial oriented events. Plan, organize and execute external relations projects, special events (distinguished speakers, workshops, industry/public-sector opportunity meetings, board meetings), and alumni engagement programs within a budget. Develop and supervise production of materials, supervise invitational processes and plan logistics (including student and faculty participation), Provide status reporting and post-hoc assessment, solicit feedback and suggestions for improvement. Relationship Development and Information Analysis: Research and assess industries and companies to target, prioritize selectivity principles in which companies to pursue, propose findings to academic leadership. Develop relationships with partners including but not limited to: solicitation and recruitment for membership and alumni programs, informational sessions, conferences, and retreats. Solicit and coordinate faculty and student participation for informational sessions, internships, and resume matching and review. Prepare agendas, coordinate participants, develop briefings for administration, faculty, and visitors to provide key information to enable successful visits and events. Monitor satisfaction and engagement amongst external participants, faculty and students, especially in regard to mentoring experiences. Responds to constituent inquiries. May supervise and mentor less experienced staff members: As Division becomes more established and expands its external relations, development, and revenue generation capacities, mentor and advise less experience staff members. Develop and mentor multi-level teams of student interns, including recruitment, assessment, promotion, tasking and monitoring. Oversee coordination with student groups, annual budget processes for groups, and their involvement in external relations programs. Analysis and Reporting: Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data, reporting findings, interpreting results and/or making recommendations. Data Base Creation and Analysis: Work with IT staff in the creation of a Data Science Partner, Membership, and Alumni database. Ensure the the External Program's needs are met, track status of development and analyze findings.
