We are currently looking for the ideal candidate to join our Marketing team as a Communications Specialist. This position will take the lead on all of DEA’s print and digital communication efforts to improve and maintain the cooperative’s image and support the cooperative’s strategic initiatives including member engagement.
Write, design and coordinate the production of the digital and print version of the member newsletters, e-marketing campaigns, internal forms, flyers, direct mail, event invitations, posters, event invitations and other communication pieces as needed
Write, edit and manage the website content and electronic communications, including implementing new website initiatives as needed
Develop print and digital communication pieces for a variety of audiences, including members, employees and local community members
Use communication strategies including social media to help the cooperative meet goals and objectives
Evaluate new and existing communication channels to develop the most effective mix of communication methods for members, employees and other audiences
Assist the public relations director and marketing manager when necessary, including in emergency and outage communication situations
Develop the annual strategic marketing communication plan
Assist other departments with developing communication strategies and creating communication pieces
College degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field.
A minimum of two years of experience in communications, digital communications, journalism, marketing or related discipline.
Skills & Abilities
Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint in a Macintosh operating system
Knowledgeable with e-mail marketing management systems, website content management, digital analytics systems, and social media platforms.
Ability to develop publications, collateral materials and digital communications.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communications skills required, attention to detail is a must
