As a member of the Aquatics team, incumbents in this position are responsible for overall safety and conduct of the patrons using the pool and enforcement of the governing policies, rules and regulations in the pool area.
Lifeguards may work at either the indoor or outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
This temporary employment may be scheduled through the year on a full-time basis depending on the needs of the town, but will not exceed six months in length (or 1,040 hours, whichever comes first). This is strictly temporary (“at will”) employment which may be terminated at any time and does not lead to regular full-time employment.

Must be at least 15 years of age.
Previous lifeguarding experience preferred, but not required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must have current Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Swim Lesson Instructor or Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
