Senior Technical Writer, National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC)-2011856
We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to be a member of our dynamic team as a Technical Writer. You will generate a variety of documents, helping NREC expand its presence in commercial and government markets. Your writing will help NREC to acquire, execute, and deliver projects. You will work with technical and business development leadership to write proposal and marketing content (e.g. news stories, web pages, etc.) to help bring in new projects. You will also support our projects with the generation of technical reports and documentation that convey complex technical information using an approachable prose for a non-technical audience.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
Collaborate with technical and business development experts to generate proposals for new projects
Coordinate with internal and external collaborators to write statements-of-work, project updates, and reports
Interface with senior technical management to develop documentation (e.g. user manuals, interface documentation, etc.)
Engage with business development to develop marketing materials including news stories, press releases, and content for the website
Edit and write other technical documents as requested
Communicate progress and participate in reviews with technical staff
5+ years experience in technical writing, including technical proposal writing
Strong collaboration skills
Able to work independently under uncertainty
Demonstrate writing abilities in marketing to help promote the NREC brand via content generation
Able(Ability) to lead, organize and bring to fruition projects from start to finish
Proficient with common Microsoft Office products

Graduate degree in technical writing or related disciplines
Technical writing in universities or other research organizations
Technical writing for software documentation
Technical writing for proposals in response to solicitations from the U.S. government (e.g. BAA, RFP, RFA, etc.)
Writing for marketing (e.g. press release, news story, website content)
Education in engineering, science, or technology
Proficient with a prevalent document software suite such as Adobe products
