PROGRAM DIRECTOR , Work of the Future (WotF) Initiative , to help lead a new effort, Work of the Future Initiative, launched in the spring of 2018 at the request of the president and provost of MIT. Will oversee all aspects of administration and day-to-day management of the project. This includes working with the leadership team to develop and implement the overall strategy for the WotF, including the research and communications agenda, overall administration responsibilities, the planning of the logistical support for meetings and events, coordinating and overseeing the project's work plan and output, coordinating the work of ten to fifteen graduate students and postdocs, and managing a multimillion-dollar budget.
The Work of the Future Initiative is comprised of a task force consisting of twenty-plus faculty members; an advisory board of industry, government, education, philanthropic, and other leaders; and a research advisory board of academic leaders from the U.S. and abroad. This faculty-led research initiative and public dialogue initiative will engage the MIT community around critical issues related to the future of work and engage beyond MIT's campus through a communication and dissemination strategy that includes conferences, roundtables, presentations, and a Work of the Future podcast.
REQUIRED : a B.A.; seven years of related experience in administration, communications, or project management; strong interpersonal communication and project management skills; and proven discretion working with confidential information. Job #17154
