Data accuracy and reliability is essential for every financial organization as it is the key driver for all its business operations including trade execution, risk management or compliance reporting. The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team is responsible for data maintenance, development and execution of architectures, establishing policies, practices and procedures to manage the Data/Information life cycle needs of an enterprise in an effective manner.
The candidate will be the functional head of the Asia Ex-Japan Enterprise Data Management function within Nomura supporting the Asia Ex-Japan businesses.
Main responsibilities are:
Managing the Reference data team both in the region and our servicing hub.
Overseeing the team in Powai by giving guidance and directions. Continuous monitoring of the performance based on established SLAs
Oversight of Operation controls (procedures, risk control self-assessments and KRI) within Enterprise Data Management
Represent the functions in regional and global meetings with business and stakeholders to discuss projects, issues and outstanding risk items and lead Data related projects
Drive the data governance and define the rules and logic to maintain, cleanse and distribute data in a consistent manner
Perform analysis of new business and projects to map out the required data model and controls to support the new business/ projects.
Key Experience & Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong logical and analytical (BA) skills
Strong knowledge of the securities and listed derivative trade flow, and operational risk and control requirements
Solid understanding Reference Data, including global market instruments data and client data
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and related experience
Good technical (SQL, VBA, Bloomberg) knowledge will be an advantage
