TriCore Reference Laboratories, New Mexico's premier lab, is seeking Medical Lab Techs and Medical Lab Scientists for our Blood Bank at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque!

1. Performs/results high volume, routine clinical laboratory testing using validated methods and procedures. 2. Operates routine laboratory equipment, instruments, and interfaces. Prepares reagents and solutions following standard laboratory formulas and procedures. 3. Performs and document routine and periodic maintenance and calibration procedures. 4. Performs routine logging for QC/QA purposes. Collect and compile QA data as directed. 5. Performs basic troubleshooting, identify testing problems (QC, patient, interface or instrument) and notify appropriate supervisors for corrective action. 6. Participates in regulatory inspections as appropriate. 7. Assists in training new employees and/or students through shadowing, observation and instruction as appropriate. 8. Assists by taking inventory as needed or appropriate. Order supplies for the Section/Department as directed. 9. Reports any abnormalities in patient results and test procedures. 10.Serves as a liaison with internal and external customers/employees/clients as appropriate. 11.Depending on site or department, may collect specimens such as blood, urine, sputum and other body fluids and prepare for analysis.
MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
MINIMUM EDUCATION Meet one of the following per CLIA regulations:
Associate of Science Medical Laboratory Technician
Education and training equivalent to an associate degree in laboratory science to include 24 semester hours of science courses that include (i) Six semester hours of chemistry; (ii) Six semester hours of biology; and (iii) Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination and at least three months of documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.
On or before 2/28/92 qualified or could have qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 laboratory regulations published March 14, 1990 (55 FR 9538)
High school graduate or equivalent and qualified to perform high complexity testing prior to April 24, 1995.
On or before April 24, 1995, with a high school diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures course and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
No experience is required.
Relevant ASCP or equivalent certification
MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science
No experience required.
