This position is accountable for the overall supervision of task and workflow of Risk Management, Credentialing, and Peer Review programs. Communicates collaboratively with the CEO & CNO to resolve issues and develop system to facilitate the overall functions of assigned program.
Interprets, executes and enforces the policies and procedures of the hospital.
Coordinate Risk Management reports to Medical Executive Committee, Governing Board, CNO and CEO.
Attends departmental staff meetings to share information, problem solve and provide and receive feedback, as needed
Reports all problems or patient complaints to CEO & CNO, as needed, and initiates immediate steps to correct problems when appropriate
Acts as the administrator for reporting initiatives
Implements the surveillance program throughout the facility to identify outbreaks, potential infection hazards, track hospital Risk Management factors in relation to acquired infections, and communicable disease exposure
Acts in a support role in that reportable diseases are communicated to appropriate state and local agencies and any other agency required by law
Collaborates with Plant Ops/Maintenance to assure that appropriate infection prevention, risk management, and control measure are taken during construction projects. Monitors to assure identified measures are implemented effectively
Reviews, revises and develops new risk management policies and procedures on an on-going basis to assure relevance to current clinical practice, CDC, and APIC guidelines
Reviews, revises and develops new infection prevention policies and procedures on an on-going basis to assure relevance
Utilizes concepts of age/ developmental stages in interactions with patients and families
Identifies potential and actual risks to patients in order to reduce incidence of injury
Identifies and implements actions and procedures to eliminate, minimize or report risks; identifies procedures to follow in the event of an incident; reports processes for common problems, failures and user error
Utilizes RL Solutions in recording incidents, investing incidents, creating and implementing applicable and appropriate policies related to incidents, and closing out incidents within 30 days – per hospital policy

Training, Experience & Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Minimum three (3) years experience as RN in a hospital setting with two (2) years demonstrated leadership, supervisory ability, Credentialing, Peer Review, and Risk Management required
Current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing of North Carolina required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA accredited program required
Experience with the following computer applications preferred: Meditech, RL Solutions, Simplr, and Microsoft Office applications
This position is an exempt, director level position, with full benefit package including PTO, 401K, subsidized benefits, and bonus eligibility all subject to applicable waiting period(s).
