Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) is comprised of six (6) Regions which provide services to specific 'groupings/clusters' of schools, colleges, and organized research units (5 academic, 1 all other). This regional approach to providing administrative services is intended to improve service quality by re-establishing personal connections and to develop more local expertise.
Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, UndergrAduate Studies, Organized Research Units REgion (SHARE) – is part of Berkeley Regional Services, within the division of the Vice Chancellor for Administration. Our mission at SHARE is simple. We aim to provide the Human Resources, Research Administration, Purchasing & Reimbursement services that departments and ORUs in our region require - in a timely and efficient manner, with minimal hand-offs and a culture of collaborative improvement.

•Enters employee information into Human Capital Management (HCM) system for new hires, change of status, terminations, etc, ensuring that the data is correct and consistent. Ensures Audits for employee information and appointment information entered into HCM are done accurately, promptly and have passed correctly to the Personnel Payroll System (PPS). •Manage queues in ticketing system to ensure they are meeting critical deadlines. •Identifies problems, works with submitters or HR Professionals to correct or to obtain all required information. This includes chartfield validation issues, incomplete or inaccurate onboarding paperwork, to visa compliance issues. •Responsible for individual workload and time management with respect to work completion. This includes making workload decisions as needed and escalating insufficient/excessive work situations. •Ensures data integrity using established post entry audit procedures •Resolves issues regarding HCM questions •Manages sensitive and confidential information •Consults with Generalists and CSS managers when working on non-routine issues of complex or sensitive nature. •Collaborate with the Payroll team to resolve issues resulting from errors or systemic problems •Professional Development •Duties as assigned•Ability to provide exceptional customer service in high volume, fast-paced, professional environment •Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively. •Possess a high degree of political acumen and awareness •Proven experience exercising strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing •Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. •Must possess ability to work rapidly and accurately with pressure of competing deadlines and frequent interruptions in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. •Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds •Advanced knowledge of HR processes for data entry into HCM •Advanced knowledge of HR processes and procedures for maintenance and purging of personnel files •General knowledge of benefits eligibility requirements •Knowledge of EEO and affirmative action reporting requirements •Knowledge of job posting procedures •Skill in managing sensitive and confidential information regarding bargaining unit issues •Attention to detail and accuracy •Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
Education/Training: •High school diploma or equivalent experience This position is governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Clerical & Allied Services Unit (CX) between the University of California and Teamsters Local 2010.
